Lana Lokteff, the younger sister of Joe, writes the lyrics, melodies and sings for Thirty Day Notice. She was born in Portland, Oregon but lives in Scandinavia.
Lana has been interested in the paranormal ever since she can remember. Because of her own spiritual experiences, she was drawn to study quantum physics and philosophy in college. However, in time she realized most of the information she was learning in school was wrong or outdated. Lana left school and began modeling which brought her to Los Angeles. She began having dreams and visions of singing in a band which was ridiculous to her because she did not know how to sing yet even though her Russian family lineage was full of musicians and singers. Lana kept meeting musicians and eventually began writing songs and taking voice lessons while working for a film production company in Hollywood.
Interested in the music industry she worked as an operations manager for Miles Copeland's company among others in la la land. After becoming completely disgusted with the music industry, Lana decided to start her own record label with her big brother Joe called Piggyback Records in Bend, Oregon. They ran Piggyback Records for several years but decided to let it go as the music industry at that time was being revolutionized because of the Internet. However, they managed to produce five excellent musical groups, including Lana's other project called Magdalene's Dream with Keith Hillebrandt from Nine Inch Nails' The Fragile and Thirty Day Notice.
After some time out from TDN to pursue other interests, today Joe and Lana are full speed ahead making new music for Thirty Day Notice, although from two international & interdimensional locations.
Lana is interested in topics such as synchronicity, conspiracies, paranormal, intuition, dreams, out of body experiences, secret societies, ancient civilizations, spirituality, the soul, fringe science, aliens, mythology, symbolism, parallel universes, alternate time lines, mind control, clones, archetypes, destiny, higher powers, other dimensions, the new world order, simulated realities, post-humanism, programmed realities, technology, sacred geometry, the unconscious and consciousness.
She feels very strongly against the destructive programming forces in pop music and feels we're heading to a culture of idiocracy.
In addition to writing and licensing music, Lana is also the booking agent for Red Ice Radio, editor of the Red Ice biweekly newsletter, participates in commentaries, writes articles on health topics and is the co-producer of Red Ice TV which places emphasis on alternative topics to the mainstream.
